COVID-19 & THE WORK TO KEEP US ALL SAFE

Dear friends,

In times like these our top priority is that our guests, and our staff and their families feel safe. Therefore, we have taken precautions at our facilities to reduce the risk of possible spread of the Coronavirus.

We’ve taken every action when it comes to cleaning and safety according to the authorities and our security company. We have implemented extended cleaning and hygiene routines internally and we follow WHO guidelines.

We have disinfection available in all public areas and follow our central action plans at all times.

In order to minimize the risk of spreading the Corona virus we have temporarily changed our food and beverage offerings at Nordic Light Hotel.

The hotel’s breakfast and conference buffets will be replaced by a smaller breakfast, where we have tried to choose the dishes you like best, however we are of course open to all feedback on how we can make today’s most important meal even better.

We are following the situation closely just to make sure we take the right precautions at all times to protect our guests, employees and their families.

Safe Stay

For guests, SAFE STAY means that:

 

We maintain good hand hygiene with frequent handwashing and use of hand sanitizer.

We regularly clean communal areas and surfaces that are touched frequently.

We keep at least 1 metre away from others.

Hotel staff who are in contact with guests wear face masks.

We tell you about infection prevention measures, both verbally and through posters and notices.

We stay at home if we feel unwell.

All hotels follow local restrictions for their region.

Safe Rooms

Hotel rooms are cleaned thoroughly between guest arrivals. The chemicals used are effective for disinfection, whilst also being easy on humans and the environment.

The housekeeping staff pay extra attention to wiping the following: door handles, sinks, remote controls, hairdryers and surfaces that are touched a lot, as well as light switches and other electrical appliances.

Glasses and towels are replaced between guest arrivals, regardless of whether they were used or not.

The housekeeping staff use one set of disposable gloves and one set of cleaning cloths per room.

In the event or high probability of a guest with Covid-19 having stayed in a hotel room, the room, and other areas visited by that guest, will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. All textiles, bedding and pillows will be washed.

 

Cancellations

Due to the current situation Nordic Light Hotel has chosen to add the following amendment to the standard cancellation terms and conditions: All prepaid reservations made through our own website nordiclighthotel.com with stay dates until February 28 -2021, you are welcome to change your booking free of charge. Please note that you will be required to pay for any price differences resulting from these new dates. Contact reception@nordiclighthotel.com to rebook your stay.

Safe Foods

The traditional buffets has been adapted in light of the current situation. Displays on coffee machines, juice dispensers and so on are regularly cleaned.

Serving trays, cutlery and simliar items are regularly exchanged by the serving staff.

We avoid queueing boht inside and outside the restaurant.

Hand sanitizer is available throughout the hotel and by the restaurant entrance.

Exposed areas are being cleaned 1-2 times per hour during service.

Particularly exposed areas, such as payment terminals and menu cards are being cleaned between guests.

Table service applies to all meals, except for breakfast buffets and evening meal buffets.

Tables are positioned to make sure guests can maintain a distance of at least 1 metre from each other.

The staff use disposable gloves when serving and clearing tables.

Tables and chairs will be disinfected with sanitizer after each seating.

Safe Conference

Before the conference:

 

The capacity of the conference facilities determines how many participants can attend the conference. There must be at least 1 metre between individual participants. Many of our hotels have extra rooms and equipment for video conferences or video transmission, which makes it possible to include more participants, i.e. dispersed in several rooms.

To ensure that guidelines on distancing, and disease and infection control, are followed, hosts need to provide a complete guest list, including contact information of all the participants, to the hotel in advance.

Tables, chairs, door handles and other surfaces are thoroughly cleaned before and after conferences.

During the conference:

Hand sanitizer is available for use at the entrance and in all communal areas, both inside and outside the conference room.

There are posters to inform people about infection control, e.g. to stay at least 1 metre away from other people.

Tables and chairs are spaced out, so that conference guests can maintain a distance of at least 1 metre from other participants.

Frequently used areas and surfaces are regularly cleaned during conferences. We are extra careful with items and surfaces that are touched frequently, e.g. technical equipment, coffee machines and door handles.

Food service either inside or outside the conference rooms is provided in accordance with current regulatins and recommendations from the authorities.
